London Youth Support Trust (LYST) is excited to introduce its very first Enterprise Week. Running from the 10th– 14th September 2018, Enterprise Week will give entrepreneurs – from entry level upwards – the chance to receive expert business guidance and support, with a range of free and invaluable workshops.
Day One – Monday 10th September:
Day one will begin with an Enterprise Launch (10am-11am). Hosted at our New Horizon Centre, we will kick-start this exciting week with speakers from the Merton Chambers of Commerce, Moat Housing, and Merton Council.
This will be followed by a free employment workshop (2pm-4pm), which will provide support from CV building to developing a successful LinkedIn profile.
If your CV is already up to scratch then head over to Pollards Studios in Merton. Our successful ‘Makin’ it in Merton’ event will be kicking off at 2pm and running until 4. This event is perfect for those looking to break into the business world, as we will be providing entrepreneurs with free advice – covering everything from financing to marketing – which will help you expand your business.
Day Two – Tuesday 11th September:
On day two, we are hosting a Data Protection and Recruitment workshop at our centre in Pollards Studios. This workshop will highlight legal requirements in recruitment and data protection so that you can protect the future of your business (11am – 1pm).
Over at the New Horizon centre, we will be hosting a Skills and Training event (1pm-4pm), where you will be able to apply for jobs, take part in mock interviews, and register with recruitment agencies. All you need to bring with you is a CV. Why not bring the CV you made at Monday’s workshop?
Day Three – Wednesday 12th September:
Day three of Enterprise Week will be held at our centre in Pollards Studios. We will be hosting four workshops throughout the day.
The first workshop, at 11am, will focus on Health and Safety, which will teach you the basics of risk assessments, first aid, and welfare facilities.
At 12pm, we are hosting a Business Start-Up Support workshop. This is essential for anyone who wants to start their own business but is unsure how to get the ball rolling.
The afternoon will centre around our very exciting Dragons Den event (12pm – 4pm). This unique workshop will give you the chance to win £2000 of funding to kick-start your very own business. All you need to do is present your business plan to our experienced dragons.
Day three will conclude with a B2B Workshop (6pm-8pm). This provides an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their products, meet other entrepreneurs, and receive guidance from our advisers.
Day Four – Thursday 13th September:
Day four will consist of two crucial workshops. The first is focused on funding your business (11am – 12:30pm), and the second is a how-to session on all things branding (1pm – 3pm). These events will both take place at our Pollards Studios centre.
Day Five – Friday 14th September:
The final day of Enterprise Week will take place at Pollards Studios, where we will be hosting two workshops: Finance – The Basics (11am – 1pm) and Social Media for Businesses (1pm – 3pm).
These workshops will reinforce the invaluable advice from Thursday’s workshops (so do go to them!). The first workshop will feature a speaker from AIMS Accountants for Business, who will be giving advice on how to plan and control your finances. The final workshop will focus on expanding your business using social media platforms.
During Enterprise Week, our workshops will either take place at the Pollards Studios centre, or the New Horizon Centre. Please find the addresses below:
